Discovering Monferrato

Monferrato is one of the most beautiful Italian regions, famous for its biodiversity and the gentle hills that frame its landscape.
Its wine-growing landscapes were recognized by UNESCO in 2014 as cultural elements of exceptional beauty, bolstered by the long-standing tradition of vine cultivation and “wine culture.”

The area of Piedmont where Margara is located is part of the so-called “Monferrato degli Infernot,” a portion of land characterized by the presence of historic vernacular structures carved into the “Pietra da Cantone,” once used for wine storage.

Oenological Tradition

Experience Monferrato by discovering the indigenous grape varieties, its wineries perfectly integrated into the landscape, and the wines to be savorously enjoyed during moments of relaxation. Discover a world in which oenological tradition offers much more than just a glass of wine.

Authentic Flavors

Monferrato’s gastronomy stands out for its richness in dishes and ingredients inherently linked to the territory. Piedmontese cuisine is a journey through authentic and genuine flavors, rooted in peasant tradition and influenced by the Savoy nobility. Characterized by the use of high-quality ingredients such as truffles, hazelnuts, rice, and premium meats, this cuisine offers iconic dishes such as vitello tonnato, bagna cauda, and agnolotti. Accompanied by celebrated wines like Barolo and Barbera, Piedmontese gastronomy enhances simplicity and taste, transforming every meal into an experience rich in history and culture.

Millennial History and Culture

Monferrato presents a historical and artistic heritage that is not only rich but also highly diversified, with contents rooted in the territory and popular culture. Starting from Fubine Monferrato, one can find, in addition to the Infernot, the Bricherasio Castle, the Hanging Garden, and the Crypt of Count Emanuele. The historic cities of Acqui Terme, Asti, Casale Monferrato, and Alessandria are attractive urban centers not only for shopping but also for the beauty of their wisely preserved historic centers. For those who love the panorama, the tour of the Big Benches is a must—many of which overlook the hills around Margara and can be reached by car, on foot, or by e-bike excursions.
